Schutzhund Dog Training- Training Your Dog to Be Incredible

Schutzhund dog training is the highest rung of the dog training ladder, and requires working with your dog using much more advanced techniques than mere obedience training. It takes a very special dog to start with if you would like to get involved with Schutzhund dog training. Schutzhund training started out in Germany over a 100 years ago, in order to test a dog’s ability to serve as a police dog. Schutzhund is actually the German word for protection dog. Today’s Schutzhund competitions include tracking and obedience trials along with the protection trial.

Showing Small Dog Breeds

Q. What I don’t like is judges re-stacking my dog on the table!! I’ve been showing dogs for 40 yrs and I think I know how to properly stack an individual dog, and I stack them a certain way for a reason — I resent a judge trying to re-stack my dog! especially a young tentative puppy!!!

A. Many judges are re-stacking dogs and moving dogs feet now precisely for that reason. Handlers have found ways to stack their dogs a particular way dog so that they hide faults. By picking up a foot and seeing where the dog puts it naturally the judge can see what the handler was trying to hide.

Great Idea for a Mini Crock Pot

I recently had to bottle feed a Frenchie puppy and found that my mini crock pot did a great job of warming the bottles. I would leave it on all day so it was ready at any time . I used a digital meat thermometer set at 100 degrees . Worked great- no guessing. I also used a mini bottle. The kind you give babies medicine in. Regular size nipple but only holds 15 mls of formula so you know exactly how much the puppy is getting. Less wasted formula.
